Liquid Foundations with the Most Number of Shades

More is more when it comes to foundation shades, because it means a better likelihood of you finding your true shade match. And with inclusive beauty gaining more and more traction, we’re expecting to see even more beauty brands expanding their shade selection for their foundations. But what good is a 100-shade foundation range (that you can buy online) if you can’t test it on your skin to see if it’s truly your shade? Here are 10 ranges that are available in physical stores in Singapore so you can try out the shades in person to ensure that it matches your skin tone perfectly.

M.A.C Cosmetics

Singapore carries 57 shades of M.A.C Cosmetics’ Studio Fix Fluid SPF. The formula is colour-true and long-wearing up to 24 hours, and gives medium-to-full buildable coverage and a matte finish. It is suitable for all skin types, although those with oily skin will find this great because it helps control oil and shine.

$56, from M.A.C Cosmetics boutiques and Sephora

Fenty Beauty

With 50 shades – 40 when it first launched – Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation did not make history as the first foundation (or beauty brand for that matter) to offer a wide range of shades. It did, however, make such a big splash (all thanks to RiRi’s star power) and impact on the industry that it led to many other bigger and more established brands pulling up their socks and launching/relaunching their foundations in more shades in a bid to be as inclusive.

$52, from Sephora

Kat Von D Beauty

The Lock-It Liquid Foundation has one of the widest ranges available in Singapore with 45 shades. The vegan-friendly formula gives natural medium-to-full coverage with just one or two pea-sized droplets. The natural matte finish is also waterproof, fade-proof and transfer-resistant for up to 24 hours.

$58, from Sephora

You should be able to find a true match with Cover FX’s Power Play Foundation, which has 40 shades. The matte-finish foundation helps control shine with sweat-proof powders, which is great for Singapore’s hot and humid weather. It also gives medium-to-full buildable coverage.

$68, from Sephora

Nars

Makeup brand Nars’ Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation comes in 33 shades. The formula uses micronised amino acid-coated pigments to make it blend seamlessly into skin and “adapt” to your skin tone. This means it is made to give a true second-skin finish. The foundation is also breathable, lightweight, fade- and transfer-resistant. Plus, a blend of raspberry, apple and watermelon extracts helps smooth out skin texture to impart a natural radiance (thus the name) to skin.

$76, from Nars counters at Tangs and Robinsons, and Sephora

The Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation comes in 32 shades, and has special pigments that help create a smooth, long-wearing finish. It is also fade-, transfer-, sweat- and waterproof, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and non-comedogenic.

Milani
image

Although the brands that made it to this list have at least 30 shades, none of them are sold at drugstores. That’s why we’re including American brand Milani here. With 16 shades, its Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation is one of the few drugstore brands with this number of shades (you usually see six to 10 shades for a foundation range). The oil-free and water-resistant formula is suitable for all skin types, and gives full coverage and a photo-ready finish.

$21.90, from Watsons online and selected Watsons stores
