Ironically, with work from home being the status quo, you may find dedicating some time for a self-care ritual may not be a top priority. As such, it gets tricky to strike a balance between pampering your skin and well-being.

Thankfully, there’s a new buzzword that aims to change all that. Enter: purposeful beauty.

The idea is to make every step of your beauty routine count. This would mean cutting out unnecessary steps for a streamlined routine with maximised results and minimum effort. To achieve such results, it is imperative to include several multi-tasking products that are quick and easy to use while still ensuring that you fulfill the intentions of your beauty routine.

(Here are “9 Multi-Use Skincare Products That Will Save You Time And Money“)

Ahead, a curation of the must-have hybrid skincare and makeup buys to get started on a truly purposeful beauty routine.

Besides its supercharged formula that is made with a new Chronolux Power Signal Technology and 360° Mesh Matrix Technology to quickly repair and support the skin against micro-movements, this innovative eye serum comes with a unique wand.

With the new custom-designed cryo-steel wand, skin around the delicate eye area is instantly cooled by a reported two degrees celsius. When paired with the supercharged serum, the cryo-steel wand helps to increase micro-circulation, instantly reduce the look of puffiness, boost radiance and rejuvenate tired-looking peepers.

Dior Beauty Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation, $192

Besides having a texture that mimics that of a luxurious serum, this product also provides the benefits and nourishment similar to that of a superior serum. This is powered by the longonza flower – an exceptional flower from the Dior gardens –with vectorised hyaluronic acid.

The result? A cocktail of concentrated skincare and corrective pigments that helps to correct firmness, wrinkles, dark spots and radiance.

Chanel Beauty Le Lift Fluide, $221

This light emulsion is equipped with a double anti-ageing and mattifying power to tackle skin ageing and treat oily complexions.

It is formulated with a botanical alfalfa concentrate that is extracted using a green biotechnology process. It works to stimulate collagen synthesis for plumper skin and is known to possess an action comparable to that of retinol but still being gentle on the skin.

Roucou seed extract is also included in the formula to aid in reducing sebum production by significantly decreasing sebaceous gland activity and pore size.

Chanel Beauty
Kiehl's Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum, $130
image

The brand’s newest serum is a do-it-all product that takes cues from the medical science of micro-dosing. The latter is the administration of powerful ingredients in low and precise dosages.

The serum contains a carefully calibrated dose of retinol that works to promote skin renewal, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and redefine skin texture.

Plus, it has been clinically demonstrated to minimise discomforting effects including redness, dryness and peeling – side effects commonly associated with retinol products. It is also formulated with ceramides and peptides to strengthen the skin barrier, improve elasticity, and increase skin’s tolerance to retinol.

Kiehl's
Chantecaille Seascreen 30 Mineral Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen Mist, $117
image

Fact check: The sunscreen applied in the morning does not last all day, and it is good practice to continuously touch up to ensure maximum protection. Hence, this is where sunscreen mists come in play.

Chanetecaille’s version is designed in a handy mist bottle and is said to be the brand’s first-ever reef-safe sunscreen mist and contains mineral sun filters to protect against the sun’s harsh rays. The fine mist formula is packed with UVA and UVB protection, absorbs quickly and is water-resistant.

Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Re-Cover Cream SPF 40/PA++. $71

This is a definite go-to for those with sensitive skin and would prefer applying a colour correcting cream instead of a foundation to neutralise redness and cover blemishes.

Thanks to a host of skin-loving ingredients such as centella asiatica, this green-to-beige cream helps to protect complexions from external environmental aggressors, soothe irritation, and can cover up imperfections for a luminous, brighter finish.

Quick tip: Warm the product with your fingers till the colour turns beige and gently dab the product onto the skin for an even complexion.
