Every year, more than 29 percent of cancers diagnosed in women are breast cancers. It remains the leading cancer for women in Singapore. As with any disease, awareness is key. The more you know about it and the earlier you detect it, the more you can do to stem its spread. This makes the work of Breast Cancer Awareness even more significant.
The Estee Lauder Companies group leads the charge with its annual contribution to the Pink Ribbon campaign. The aim? To support the health of women by raising awareness through education and promoting early detection.
The late Evelyn Lauder spearheaded the initial campaigns and founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in 1993. Since then, the company’s Breast Cancer Campaign has raised more than US$99 million (S$133 million) for global education, research and medical services, with over US$80 million funding 321 research grants through the BCRF. What’s more, the campaign supports more than 60 Breast Cancer organisations worldwide, including ours in Singapore.
