It’s finally here in Singapore! For fans of cult beauty brand, Glow Recipe, you no longer have to pay for expensive postage just to get your hands on your fave products because Glow Recipe is now available at Sephora Singapore.
Inspired by K-beauty as well as the founders’ backgrounds (both are Koreans who moved to the US from South Korea for their jobs) and leveraging on their heritage and traditional K-beauty rituals, Glow Recipe started out as a website in 2014, curating K-beauty brands for an American audience.
In 2017, the founders decided to launch their own brand to immense success – its now-iconic Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is not only one of Sephora’s best-selling products in America, but the mask itself has been sold out eight times. It has also had a waitlist in the thousands. In fact, this cult favourite is so popular that one Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is sold every three minutes!
Other notable successes include selling one Watermelon Lip Pop every 90 seconds on its launch day, selling out its Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner multiple times, and having every new launch consistently ranking within the top five new bestsellers at launch.
In addition, Glow Recipe formulas are made with the highest quality natural ingredients, pairing superfruits with effective actives. They are also free of parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, silicones and synthetic dyes, made without animal by-products and Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free.
And while the founders believe that sensoriality is an important aspect in skincare, the use of fragrance in the products is kept to a minimum – no more than 0.5 per cent of synthetic fragrance, though the brand prefers to use naturally derived fragrances or fragrances created from the edible ingredients, where possible.
We speak with Glow Recipe founders, Sarah Lee and Christine Chang, to find out more about the brand and what you should look out for now that it’s here in Singapore.
