Keeping up with beauty social media is hard, no doubt about it. It seems like there’s a new product trending every time we open TikTok. Throughout the year 2022, many makeup and skincare products have taken off with the help of the beauty community.
In this list, we collate some viral ones that dominated our for-you pages and feed.
While this product was already popular in 2021, the hype followed it well into 2022 for providing an absolutely glowing base for foundation. Despite its name, the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter Foundation ($76) is best used as a skin tint or as a primer. Alternatively, you can huge it as a highlighter by simply putting it on the high points of your face.
Its large applicator helps for quick application as well. Simply apply the product on the face and use a makeup sponge to pat it all in. This product is perfect for those who want to have a glow-from-within luminosity that will leave you looking radiant.
To get the most out of yours, you can remove the rubber stopper so that you can scrape the sides – thank you TikTok for the hack!
You are probably sick of hearing about this product, but if you haven’t gotten your hands on it, now is the time. This blush created a storm on the internet that has yet to die down. Known for being extremely pigmented, one dot on the cheek is enough for a flushed-out look. At $33, you will be getting your money’s worth because one bottle will last forever.
Many beauty users also use this product on the lips and eyes for a gorgeous monochrome look. It comes in 11 shades; from peachy pinks to mauve purples and burgundy reds.
One of the most viral hacks this year has been to mix this product with the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer ($36) for illuminated cheeks. And trust us – it’s a viral hack for a reason.
Looking for the easiest blush application of your life? The Pixi Pixi On-The-Glow Blush Tinted Moisturiser Stick ($27) can be applied directly to the face and then blended in with the fingers. It’s a balm formula that is formulated with ginseng and aloe vera. On top of providing you with a flushed glow, you can expect your skin to be hydrated and moisturised; killing two birds with one stone.
This is perfect for when you’re on the go and just need a quick touch-up. It’s super easy to apply and you don’t even need a mirror. If you’re worried about hygiene, you can just apply it to the back of your hand and pick it up with your brush.
It’s also buildable – swipe once for a subtle look and a few more times if you really want the colour to pop.
Looking for a loose powder that will make your pores disappear? The Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder ($95) went viral for doing just that. With a matte finish, many users’ before and after show barely any shine on their faces after wearing the powder for hours. So for those with oily skin, this might be the loose powder of your dreams
Despite the mattifying finish, this product still brightens the skin to give you a healthy and radiant finish.
The unique thing about this powder is that it comes in four different colour themes to suit those with different skin tones. While Mousseline Pastel is the universal powder for everybody, those with fair skin can also opt for Satin Blanc. Those with light and deep skin tones can opt for shades Voile Rose and Mousseline Acidulee respectively.
2022 was the year of lip oils, and two have made this list. Starting with the one that got the ball rolling, the Dior Lip Glow Oil features a large applicator that spreads goodness onto your lips. The formula is non-sticky and leaves your lips with a non-greasy shine.
Being a lip oil, this product only gives a hint of colour. This makes it great for natural makeup or for bare-faced days when you want an easy way to add a little extra something to your look. Similar to a lip balm, you will be left with nourished and hydrated lips after using it.
The other lip oil that blew up on the internet is the Clarins Comfort Oil ($40). Made of 93 per cent naturally-sourced ingredients, many of the beauty community have called this a dupe for the Dior Lip Glow Oil.
Similar to the Dior one, the Clarins’ has a large applicator. It is very comfortable and cushiony which makes the application comfortable (and almost addicting). It has slightly more pigment than the Dior one so this is great if you need some colour on your lips to feel ready to face the day (we understand).
Additionally, you can use this lip oil as a lip mask! It is highly moisturising and can be left on overnight so that you wake up with the juiciest lips.
The Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey ($37) may have been a cult favourite among Clinique fans for a long time, but everyone became a fan once the TikTok beauty gurus started talking about it. Everyone who tries this product will achieve a unique ‘my lips but better’ colour with this lip product. Known to look universally flattering, it is suitable for people of all colours.
It has a sheer formula that can be built up to achieve a stronger yet still-subtle colour. It’s suitable for looks with bold eyes so that it doesn’t distract from the main attraction but is also equally wearable for every day.
The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun ($24) is organic and has broad-spectrum SPF 50+ PA++++. It gained popularity for its hydrating texture that many use to double up as a moisturiser. Most importantly, it leaves no white cast. Must we say more?
One thing we will note is that it is not water-resistant. We recommend it for when you will be staying at home or in the office and won’t be perspiring a lot. But if you are somebody who perspires a lot in the Singapore heat, we’d say to find another sunscreen for your daily needs.
If you’re not convinced by cleansing balms, maybe the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm ($69) will change your mind. This cleansing balm melts into your skin to help remove all the makeup and dirt you have accumulated on your face throughout the day. It’s popular for being able to remove makeup in a matter of a few rubs, so if you don’t want to be labouring away at your face after a long day, this cleansing balm is the way to go.
At the same time, it leaves your skin feeling soft and supple as when emulsifies into cleansing milk as water is added. You can also just wipe off the product (and all the gunk) with a cloth.
This serum is the secret to ‘my skin but better’ makeup. Alone, it leaves your skin with a glow that screams ‘healthy’. But the product truly shines when it is added to foundation.
With your favourite liquid foundation, add a few drops of this serum and mix. Not only will you achieve a gorgeous complexion, but the serum will help to hydrate and minimise hyperpigmentation at the same time.
Similarly, you can use this hack with liquid blush and concealer as well. This is a must-have for many in the beauty community and we can say why.

Achieving glass skin has never been easier. While it has been on the internet since 2021, the hype for the Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream ($31) didn’t die down in 2022.
It’s a gel moisturiser with niacinamide to brighten the skin and leave it looking radiant. It leaves your skin with a dewy finish, giving you the glass skin effect. The formula absorbs easily into the skin and feels lightweight and refreshing – which is a must for Singapore’s weather. It works great under makeup as well and the glow just shines through.
The product also comes with a small spatula for those who prefer not to use their hands to pick up the gel.
Since the moisturiser has started trending, others from the same line such as the Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-Up Cream ($31). If your skin is looking dull, this cream will instantly bring life back to your face.
Looking for an affordable option that will deeply hydrate your skin whilst improving your skin’s texture? The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence ($18.50) might be for you. It reduces redness and helps to repair compromised skin barriers. On top of that, it aids in fading dark spots and is anti-ageing.
The formula is very slimy due to the snail mucin. Because of this, it works best as a nighttime essence compared to daytime usage. This product is amazing for those who have dry and flaky skin who need a hydration boost stat.
Dealing with breakouts? The La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 ($24.90) is a TikTok-dermatologist-approved repair cream. It contains prebiotics that helps to limit harmful bacteria as well as reduce inflammation.
It’s important to note that this cream is not a moisturiser; the formula includes shea butter which makes the product greasier than many would like in a moisturiser. In fact, it is typically used as the last step of a routine. You can dab it on targeted areas (don’t blend it in all the way) or apply a thin layer all over the face.
Alternatively, you can use it as a mask. Simply apply a layer over your face and wipe off after 15 minutes for a glowy complexion.
