Last weekend was an important one for the Chinese community who ushered in the Year of the Dog, and the likes of veteran actress Fann Wong and “Ah Jie” Zoe Tay made sure to have some fun as they marked the occasion.

In the midst of the joyous celebrations, we also had a health scare as local actors Kate Pang and Andie Chen’s son, Aden, was revealed to have been rushed off to the A&E due to a middle ear infection on the eve of the Lunar New Year.
Along with this picture, celeb mum Kate Pang thanked the medical staff who attended to Aden and wished her son good health in her Instagram post. Thankfully, Aden has since been discharged from the hospital and is recuperating at home.

The local actress is all about maintaining traditions. According to the actress, she never fails to head down to the Chinatown festive market during the Lunar New Year season to soak up the festivities.
This year was no exception as the “118” actress visited Chinatown with her friends on Chinese New Year Eve. We wonder if any lucky eagle-eyed fans spotted her there.

In spite of her busy schedule, the sweet-faced actress made sure to spend some quality time with her family. Along with this snap, she wrote, “This year, my family had a pre reunion dinner cause of our individual work commitments. As some of you may know, I’m not gifted in cooking so I’m always assigned to get ingredients, set the table, and do taste tests while the rest of my family cooks.
I made sure to get everyone’s favourite foods, lots of vegetables, and specially picked out these #madeinsingapore#bobomoment yummies that brought back many childhood memories. Good times (I air fried some to snack on while they were working hard in the kitchen Healthier and no cooking required too!).”

Chinese New Year is a time for reunions. Local actress Yvonne Lim brought in the Year of the Dog in Taipei with her husband and former member of Taiwanese boy band B.A.D, Alex Tien, and her two kids.
The pretty mummy who has been based in Taiwan since her marriage in 2014 posted this snap of herself with her family all dressed up for the occasion along with this cheeky caption, “Ok…after numerous attempts.believe me we really tried hard..Happy Lunar New Year everyone!!”

Here is another celebrity who agrees that getting children to pose in front of a camera can be quite a challenge. We don’t know how he did it, but props to Elvin for being able to get all 12 kids in the frame.

This Year of the Dog, the local actress “paw-sed” to spend some time with man’s best friend. The dog lover frequently posts pictures of toy poodle, Gege, on social media. Carrie and her toy poodle appear to have matching features – shiny black and eyes and chestnut brown hair.

The veteran actress posted this New Year greeting cum tribute post. Looking radiant and well-rested, she wrote, “Here’s wishing one a prosperous and healthy New Year. Thankful to have hubby @aiainbaby and Zedzed in life. Love both of you sooooo much.” So sweet!

Celebs are just like us. They spend their Lunar New Year surrounding themselves with their loved ones. This year, actress Joanne Peh and her husband and fellow actor Qi Yuwu spent both Valentine’s Day and Chinese New in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
It seems the cooler weather is agreeing with both the lovebirds who went to a flower market during the spring festival. Even without any makeup on, the actress looks breathtaking in this selfie which she captioned, “Flowers are a must! No wonder Chinese Lunar New Year is also known as Spring Festival! Are you done with shopping yet? How are you spending your CNY eve?”

2017 was a big year for the actress-singer Cheryl Wee. In February of last year, she walked down the aisle and tied the knot with her Junior College sweetheart Roy Fong. In Dec 2017, she announced that she is expecting her first child, who will be born in Year of the Dog.
The gorgeous mummy-to-be wrote, “Happy New Year! It’s my first time celebrating the New Year as a Mrs and Roy’s now found joy in getting kids to say all of the auspicious sayings to work for their angbaos.” We can’t wait to see her little one!
