Yvan Mispelaere is no longer the creative director of Diane von Furstenberg.

Mispelaere held the position since 2010 and will not be replaced.

The news comes less than two days after the DVF Spring/Summer 13 collection debuted at New York Fashion Week.

“The label announced this evening that Yvan Mispelaere would be departing from his position, ‘effective immediately’,” The Cut reports.

“The DVF design team will work under Diane’s direction alone moving forward. In the official press release, he thanked von Furstenberg for the opportunity…and described himself as ‘eager to take on my next challenge’.”

The DVF collection, showcased on Sunday and featured Grecian, polka dot and colour-block pieces.

The show was presented under hundreds of bird-shaped mirrors, which adorned the ceiling.

The fashion designer also debuted her collaboration with Google, Glass.

The unusual glasses comprise an in-built camera, which has similar features to a smart phone and is able to record the wearer’s viewpoint. – COVER MEDIA
