The upmarket collaborative line between sportswear label Adidas and Japanese design legend Yohji Yamamoto will be leaving New York City.

Perhaps seeking to add a little French touch to the already cosmopolitan mix of Japanese and German influences at Y-3, the brand will be moving its show out of the Big Apple and into the City of Light.

The Autumn Winter 2014 menswear and womenswear collections from Y-3 will be unveiled in Paris on January 19, 2014 (during the forthcoming men’s fashion week). The location is not yet known.

A number of shows have chopped and changed over the past 12 months. Rag & Bone moved its menswear show to the UK this summer to take part in the London Collections: Men, while Italian brand Costume National abandoned Paris for its home city of Milan, in a show of solidarity with the country’s fashion industry.

The Y-3 brand celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and, to commemorate the milestone, released a limited edition book recounting the past decade of ads, collections and one-off specials, with an epilogue written by New York City rapper (and fashion fan) A$AP Rocky.

“For me I feel like Y-3 defines my fashion,” says Rocky. “It has the high-end edge but it still reminds you of sports street wear. And that’s my world, there.” – AFP RELAXNEWS
