There’s always something extra special about having an item monogrammed, it gives us the slightly narcissistic thrill of knowing that it has been personalised just for us. Monogramming is associated with being a rather expensive habit, but these days, with the rise of glamorous stickers thanks to Anya Hindmarch and her customisable bags, phone cases and notebooks, it has become a more accessible practice. Monogramming to give shoes, clothes and accessories that bespoke edge has become possible at many a price point. Here are our picks of the moment:

#1 Jimmy Choo

The brand which began as a couture operation returned more closely to its roots recently with a personalised service, Jimmy Choo Made-to-Order. You can choose the material, colourway and decide on a date plaque or initials to be monogrammed in metallic gilding on the bottom of your Choos.

Prices dependent on chosen style and fabric, customisation is 10% on top of shoe price, available at Jimmy Choo boutiques.

#2 Burberry

Burberry’s newly launched Scarf Bar may seem an odd choice for investment in personalised merchandise considering the humidity of Singapore weather. However, we all know how freezing office air con can be, and I personally never frequent the cinema or travel without a good blanket scarf or pashmina in tow to ward off freezing limbs. Burberry prints and quality light-cashmere designs are classic and time tested, so adding a personal touch to a wear forever piece is totally worth it for an item that will always be iconic. You can choose the colourway, print and thread colours for the scarf and up to three monogrammed initials.

Prices range from $825 for a cashmere scarf to $1195 for lightweight cashmere, monogram fees +$120

#3 Bershka

For fans of things fun and fanciful, Bershka has introduced brightly coloured, popping alphabet patches that you can iron onto just about anything! From customised clutches to laptop cases and denim jackets, these candy coloured concoctions can make anything personal and full of character quickly and without breaking the bank.

Alphabet iron-on patches, $19.90 from Bershka

#4 Hugo Boss

The beautiful new Boss Bespoke bag is an icon in the making. You can personalise it to your exact requirements, choosing the leather colour and finish, hardware and whether you’d like it to be subtly monogrammed. The fact that it’s been seen on many a stylish editor and on the frow at New York Fashion Week is proof of its new cult status.

Boss Bespoke bags range from $1,802 to $2,082 and are available at the Ngee Ann City and Marina Bay Sands stores
