Three-carat diamond rings and chunky costume jewellery are peachy and all, but sometimes we just want to wear our jewellery without letting them wear us. And on the other extreme, minimalist jewellery is foolproof, but can have zero personality if you don’t pick them right.

That’s why Iconic Chains, Thomas Sabo’s newest collection of chain-themed sterling silver jewellery is a (good) anomaly: it’s sleek and minimalist – though not so much that it loses all identity – and edgy without being tryhard.

The extensive collection consists of chain link earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets and cuffs that can already look great when worn individually, but are also stackable and layerable for some extra edge.

And it comes with the built quality to match its tough looks, too. Each piece is made in the South West of Germany, in a small town called Idar-Oberstein, a key location for jewellery trade which is known for its rich deposit of precious stones. They are forged using pre-WWI machines, with a centuries-old process for tried-and-tested reliability and toughness.
