When it comes to investing in a fitness smartwatch, you’re going to want a stylish-looking device that’s functional enough to complement your active lifestyle.
In our books, the ideal smartwatch should have a long battery life, essential tracking features (heart rate, stairs climbed, GPS and various workout types), interchangeable straps that don’t absorb sweat (which also prevents unwanted odour) as well as water resistance, so we’re accompanied throughout any sort of workout.
After all, if we’re going to be splashing out a few hundred dollars, we’d better be getting our dollars’ worth.
And that’s exactly what Fossil’s Sport smartwatch does.
Available in two case sizes (41 and 43mm), the Fossil Sport Smartwatch has a large AMOLED touchscreen display so you’ll get all the information about your heart rate, activity levels and other notifications at one glance.
Despite its big display, the watch is super sleek. In fact, it’s one of the lightest in the market – considering how many fitness watches we have tried. You can easily track your workouts and toggle between apps with the three buttons located on the side of the Fossil Sport smartwatch’s aluminium case.
Racking up style points, the smartwatch’s strap is easily interchangeable with a wide range of colours available for purchase in stores. Want to customise your watch even more? There are also pre-loaded watch faces that allow you to set your favorite Facebook or Instagram photo as the dial.
Using Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear 3100, the watch has an efficient battery life that lasts 24 hours. Forgot to charge your watch? Don’t fret. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch takes just about an hour to be fully charged.
While it’s powered by Google’s Wear OS, you don’t actually need to own an Android smartphone to utilise this smartwatch in all its glory. Wear OS supports Apple iOS versions 9.3 or newer. You’re also able to sync your workouts effortlessly through Bluetooth.
Wear OS has also equipped this watch with Google Fit; boasting two tracking functions every fitness enthusiast would love: Move Minutes and Heart Points. These functions were designed based on goals set by the World Health Organization and American Heart Association.
Move Minutes are the minutes you spend physically active, whether it’s taking the stairs or going for yoga class, while Heart Points are earned by doing moderate to intense activities such as brisk walking, jogging, swimming or HIIT.
The watch comes packed with music-streaming app Spotify and safety app, Noonlight.
So, whether you’re running your weekend errands or sweating it out at the gym, the Fossil Sport smartwatch has got you covered, and makes for a great wrist partner.
