Versus showed a water-inspired collection at Milan Fashion Week.

The Versace label is designed by Christopher Kane and was the final fashion house to show yesterday. Guests were greeted by water noises and puddles on the catwalk as they took their seats, but the clothes were anything but dreary.

While last season the firm went for a sporty look, this time round things were more grown up. The look was industrial, with slim fitting shirt dresses boasting leather panels. Pleating continued to be a big trend, as was coloured leather – one look saw a model in maroon shorts made from the fabric.

At times the collection even seemed bondage inspired, with sheer panels included in shirts and dresses and many items boasting intricate lacing up the sides.

Many of the dresses had interesting necklines, some of which were off-the-shoulder. Sweaters came with high polo necks while jackets either had puffed sleeves or contrasting ones in leather.

The fur coat has been big news in Milan, and of course featured on this runway. It was coloured maroon and hit mid-thigh, while another version had furry sleeves and a more neutral body. © COVER MEDIA/ IMAGES: SHOWBIT
