While the winter coat isn’t a wardrobe staple for our city’s balmy weather, it actually becomes one if you’re intending to jet-set to a country in the Northern Hemisphere during the festive season.

Contrary to popular belief, one coat does not fit every climate. Here, we’ve broken down the types of jackets that you’ll need to get, based on the cities that you’re visiting this year-end.

Cities with temperatures from 10 – 20 degrees Celsius (i.e. Taipei, Shanghai)

Type of coat to choose: Biker jackets, parkas or faux fur jackets.

Cities with temperatures from 0 – 10 degrees Celsius (i.e. Milan, Paris)

Type of coat to choose: Wool or cashmere pea coats

Cities with temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius and below (i.e. Seoul, Toronto)
