From Lady Gaga‘s silver sequin embellished gown by Hedi Slimane’s Celine (seen at Grammys) to Constance Wu‘s Versace sunshine yellow tulle dress (at Oscars), it seems that many celebrities had the same thoughts when it comes to getting dressed for the award ceremonies this year: They were all thinking pink.
At Grammys, Zuri Hall, the co-anchor of E! News, showed up in a barbie pink John Paul Ataker pleated off-shoulder gown. American-Cuban singer-songwriter Camila Cabello displayed her curves with a fuschia sequinned Armani Privé number that hugs her body effortlessly. Actress Anna Kendrick flaunted her gams in a baby pink feathery mini dress by Ralph & Russo.

At the 91st Academy Awards, Marie Kondo‘s pastel pink Jenny Packham sequin embellished number definitely sparked some joy. Gemma Chan had decided to turn up in a neon pink Valentino tent dress (which, surprisingly, has pockets!). English veteran Helen Mirren wowed us with her flamingo pink Schiaparelli tulle number.
This made us wonder: Was it because February is the month of romance? Or could it be a way that celebs are commemorating female empowerment in a post-#MeToo award season (cue last year’s Grammys and Oscars)?
Whatever the reason, the special appearance of Michelle Obama at Grammys and Ruth E. Carter winning an Oscar for a non-acting category (she was the second African-American woman in Academy Awards’ history to bring home an Oscar for a non-acting category) proved to show that the ladies were the winners at this year’s award ceremonies — and pink could just be the colour that emphasised this notion of female unity.
Below, we’ve curated some of the best pink outfit ideas for all the important functions you have lined up for the rest of the year.
