The sportswear giant showcased its collection with the up-and-coming Amsterdam-based designer Daniëlle Cathari, 23, on Thursday — a series partly inspired by supermodel and brand ambassador Jenner, who also stars in the collection’s campaign.

The capsule womenswear collection, dubbed “adidas Originals by Daniëlle Cathari,” honors the brand’s heritage but puts a modern twist on its aesthetic, deconstructing and reimagining its signature tracksuits and incorporating exaggerated proportions and innovative materials. A playful color palette of red, blue, green and yellow hues is combined with cool neutral tones such as forest green, ash pink and chalk white for a contemporary and highly Instagrammable result.

Cathari’s big break came about when, as a student at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, she was invited to partake in the VFiles runway show for Fall 2017. The looks she created involved deconstructing vintage adidas tracksuits — a concept that caught the eye of the label and led to the duo collaborating officially.

The collection launches on February 10 in the US, and will also be rolled out at adidas Originals flagship stores in New York, London, Paris and Shanghai, with each city also carrying a unique colorway of the adidas Originals by Daniëlle Cathari tracksuit.

In joining forces with the brand, Cathari follows in the footsteps of fashion heavyweights Alexander Wang, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Jeremy Scott.
