Fashion is known for its ever-changing trends. But #throwbacks containing a bit of ’90s nostalgia have led to a resurgence in fashion trends from that era. These were the things Millennials saw during their childhoods, and they’ve made everything from cycling shorts to crop tops and flannel hot again.
Let’s take a look at what’s been trending.
1. Fanny Packs
Fanny packs were all the rage last season, and they’re still holding strong in the collections we’re seeing for S/S’19. Chanel, Givenchy and Alexander Wang continue to devote their time to upgrading this uncool “uncle” hold-all. So, you gotta ask, who needs a clutch when you can have a stylish bum bag to keep your hands free?
The belt bag has been given a vacation twist thanks to Sophie Anderson. With an intricate woven upper made by hand and a self-tie belt, you’ll want to rock it with an off-shoulder white dress and a pair of leather sandals.

Be bold and say ‘yes’ to this neon belt bag. Wear this half-moon piece with a black silk shirt and a pair of denim jeans.

Any belt bag can be fashioned into a crossbody purse, or held by the waist strap. But this is one with a handle, just like a proper bag. Three different styles for the price of one at this price? Where do we order?

We’re obsessed with all things checkered. Sophisticated and stylish, this belt bag will look cool against a simple ruffled dress, or a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

2. Logo T-shirts
Logomania in the ’90s was a sartorial response to America’s economic boom, where donning clothing with flashy logos was a show of affluence and coolness. Today, logos are worn ironically, or have a streetwear vibe.
The iconic logo Gucci tee now comes in black, and you can go grungy, or street style with it. Tuck yours into a pair of mom jeans and say “We gonna party like it’s 1995”.

Demna Gvasalia injects a new flavour into Balenciaga by playing with the maison’s logo every season. This time round, he dug into the brand’s archives to come up with this oversized t-shirt. Finish your look with a pair of track pants.

What we love about this t-shirt is the laminated effect on Kappa’s logo. Pair this simple classic with a black midi skirt and a pair of neutral mid-heel sandals.

Alexander Wang explores the beauty within imperfections in this collab — which is why the trefoil logo on this t-shirt is a little different. Rock yours with a pair of denim shorts and high boots.

3. Matchy Plaid Coordinates
Plaids, be they Prince of Wales, tartan, gingham or tattersall, are ridic — in a good way. But don’t go all Alicia Silverstone ala Clueless (oh, those mini skirts… No, thank you). Wear a plaid pattern on a great pair of pants.
Cut from a soft cady material that’s patterned with classic checks, this Ganni suit will inject super-stylish flair into your career wardrobe. Wear it with a black boxy bag slung diagonally across your shoulders.

Not only is this two-piece coordinate stylish and quirky, the linen and cotton blend coat still feel cool on the skin. Wear yours with a simple white t-shirt on casual Fridays.

A grey checkered suit is definitely a must-have. Wear this one with a white silk shirt and a pair of black leather stilettos to look super smooth.

The peak lapel. The long jacket hem. The colour. What’s not to love? You can rock these pieces separately, giving great versatility. They’ll still be style statements.

4. Cycling Shorts
Gym wear as casual wear is totally okay these days. Brands like Fendi, Mugler and Prada put an interesting spin (pun intended) on the athleisure trend by reintroducing the oh-so-popular ’90s cycling shorts for S/S’19 outings. But au revoir to leggings and sweatpants, because the bike short is the new athleisure staple.

Cut from a quick-dry fabric, this pair of cycling shorts from Koral is where functional fashion really gets a thumbs-up. Rock this stylish piece to the gym with a bra top. Layer your ensemble with a denim jacket and head out to dinner (and cocktails) afterwards.

These lightweight technical shorts are made from an organic cotton fabric. Stretchy and uber comfy, wear in and out of the gym, or when you’re dashing out to grab dinner, with a muscle tank and a pair of running shoes.

This pair of cycling shorts is more glamorous than most. Complement these velvet bottoms with a bandeau top, an oversized jackets, and a pair of bedazzled heels.
