Any true fan of fashion will know flowers are having a moment this season. But while dainty prints and pretty patterns have become staples as far as the shops are concerned, now it’s time to ramp it up with power florals.

These are big designs splashed across any piece of clothing you can think of – and usually worn from head to toe.

The designers in New York had this look down for Spring Summer 2012. Peter Som featured oversized rose prints on dresses, trousers and a dramatic head-to-toe floral suit. Cynthia Rowley also went big on flowers, showing prom dresses which were festooned with huge blooms.

For those who like to be a bit more fashion-forward, there were skin-tight leggings covered in flowers paired with silky kimono-style tops in an equally eye-catching print.

The all out look isn’t one for shrinking violets. Only try it if you don’t mind being stared at in the street, or if you want to play it down a bit perhaps give it a go on a big night out. © COVER MEDIA
