A key trend for the coming months is knitwear worn in various boy-style shapes. The look gives sharp tailoring a more relaxed feel and adds some much needed comfort to more severe trends.

Paul Smith brought the look to the catwalk. He paired fine knit round-necked jumpers with fitted pin-striped pants. He completed the outfit with a grey slouched beanie hat.

To give the garment more pop, he used bright corals and blues. He made sure the lower half was darker. He also added black biker spike boots to give the overall look more of an edge. The designer layered coats and bags over the knitwear to display versatility.

This look is best kept for daytime. For the office try slipping a bright-coloured, round-necked jumper over a plain shirt to add a hint of smartness. Pair the trend with tight tailored trousers and belt the items together. Don’t wear with anything too loose, or the whole outfit will appear slouchy.

For a more casual daytime outfit, team the knitwear with a pair of skinny jeans. Complete the style with high-heeled, buckled, black boots. © COVER MEDIA. Images: Showbit
