Although better known for it’s timeless, elegant jewellery, Cartier also produces a range of timeless, elegant bags.

The new Marcello de Cartier hobo (pictured above) retains the refinement of the brand but in a more accessible, and dare I say practical, way. It’s unstructured, bucket-like shape of soft, pliable leather fits neatly under  your arm or swings smartly as a small tote.

Like the other Marcello bags, the hobo is available in classic shades of bronze and black leather, and bronze and ebony python or water-snake skin. The Cartier logo looks like a little gem in metallic grey and the single strap and zip closure ensure the bag’s practicality.

At $2,280 for a calfskin and water-snake skin version (pictured left), the Marcello de Cartier is actually quite reasonably priced when you consider the quality of the product.

If you want to splash out on a python and furry calfskin version (pictured right), however, you’ll be paying $7,600!

Still, a Marcello de Cartier hobo is a lovely way to add a touch of polished elegance to daywear while the exotic leather versions are glam enough for night.

Cartier boutiques are located at Marina Bay Sands, ION Orchard, Ngee Ann City.
