Slicked back, saturated hair is definitely an upcoming beauty trend in New York as it turned up on the Spring Summer 2012 runways of BCBG Max Azria, VPL by Victoria Bartlett, Victoria Beckham and Cushnie et Ochs. The wet look created an element of androgyny with a hint of sexiness.

Bumble and Bumble’s hairstylist Neil Moodie’s inspiration for the BCBG Max Azria look was James Bond girl, Barbara Bach, in The Spy Who Loved Me – particularly the scene where Bach came out of the water and brushed her wet hair back with her hands.

The swept back wet-look is a style you can easily re-create. Here’s what Moodie did to get the look at BCBG Max Azria.
He first spritzed on a layer of Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray before applying Bumble and Bumble Gel from the front section to the crown of the head. He then brushed hair backwards using a wide tooth comb so it looked like the models used their own hands. Lastly, a mist of Bumble and Bumble Shine Spray was used to give locks a dewy finish.
