Fashion is aplenty but style is an acquired skill. And so we celebrate stylish mavens with the Her World Style Awards.

Not only must the winners be in tune with fashion trends, they must be adept at personal styling, crafting individual ensembles and projecting their unique personalities through their sartorial choices. This is no mean feat. After all, a simple LBD can be elevated in the hands of a style maestro to greater effect. Think of stylists like Kate Young and Law Roach who dress celebrities that include Margot Robbie and Zendaya, creating a lasting impact on the fashion scene.

Entering the competition was easy, stylish hopefuls simply posted a photo of themselves on their public Instagram and tell us about their personal style whilst including hashtags #HerWorldStyleAwards and #SwatchThis.  Then, the race to the crown began.

But how were the winners chosen? Well, actually – we left that up to you. Having crafting the top ten finalists from our copious entries (we heart you all), the voting opened to the general public to pick their favourite challenge.

What challenge, we hear you ask? Well – given that this is a style award, we thought there’s no better way to find who can make or break it in the fashion stakes, then setting our top 10 a style challenge: Turning their day OOTD into a night outfit, keeping the base the same.

Unallowed to change, they had to deliver two strong looks that showcase their individuality, along with their talent for crafting looks suitable for different occasions, using just add-ons and accessories. And boy, did they deliver.

Held at Plaza Singapura and Be De Bon hair salon (both sponsors) the finalists utilised the mall for their photo-shoot backdrop, whilst popping down to our presenter Swatch, who have offered all finalists vouchers to spend on their chosen timepiece.

Not only do the winners get to go home with the above plus $800 worth of shopping vouchers, two lucky voters will also be awarded with $100 worth of shopping vouchers. If you voted, we wish you luck!

Without further ado, we will now unveil the female and male winners of the 2018 Her World Style Awards: Allow us to introduce you to Singapore’s Most Stylish Male and Most Stylish Female of 2018.

Coco Khin

Style in one word? Edgy.

Achieving her style is simple, “I like to use the same lipstick colour as my accessories [to create a] perfect match for my day look.” Colour coordination between your makeup and outfits is an easy way to ensure that you have a polished and cohesive look.

A similar style? The effortlessly modern monochromatic trend.

For the night look, Coco swapped out her tee for a red bardot top whilst pulling her hair back and adding oversized earrings as the final touch. Coco suggests amping up the accessories – going for bigger and brighter options.

Statement jewellery is not only great as a conversation starter, they also help you create an anchor to build your outfit around to best showcase your sartorial choice.

Vince Acop

Style in one word? Current.

He loves wearing dark colours in the day, which has an added bonus of giving a slimming effect to the silhouette. To spice things up, Vince adds a pop of colour to the dark ensemble, and it can be as simple as an orange shirt.

To bring things up a notch for the night, Vince prefers button up shirts. They add instant dapper points and make him look sharp and well-dressed. Definitely appropriate for the after-hour parties.

Details are crucial to get bonus style points, which Vince achieves by changing into a dressier shoe.

For his night look, Vince recommends swapping out daytime footwear like loafers and boat shoes to brogues and a wingtip oxford. He changed his sneakers to polished black cut-out shoes, done his black shirt up to leave just a V of orange peeping through, then finished his look with a crisp jet-black blazer.
