Before enthralling audiences as the beautiful and talented secretary Kim Mi-so in the 2018 hit show, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Park Min Young played roles in various dramas before scoring a breakthrough in coming-of-age drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010). She went on to star in City Hunter (2011) alongside heartthrob Lee Min-ho and Healer (2015) with Ji Chang Wook.

But Min Young really cemented her popularity status with Secretary Kim, which incidentally, was her first foray into romantic comedy. The show even led her to hold her first fan meeting since her debut 12 years ago. The actress more recently starred in another romcom in 2019 called Her Private Life, where she plays a museum art curator beside actor Kim Jae Wook.

In celebration of her  34th birthday on March 4, let’s take a look at some of Min Young’s best looks and cop some style tips from this fashionable actress. Happy birthday!

1. Printed blazer

Cropped tweed blazer, $119 from Zara

Tweed can sometimes look dated. Fortunately, this Zara blazer takes a cropped silhouette, making it look fresh and modern. Pair it with wide-legged denim and a pair of white kicks for a cool streetwear-inspired look.

2. Unique silhouettes

Striped wrap blouse in orange, $34 from Pomelo

We love that this Pomelo pinstripe wrap blouse features a playful puffed sleeve and a waist-cinching waist tie. Match with relaxed white linen pants and a pair of sunnies and get ready the mojitos for a summer party.

3. Failsafe LBD

Black poplin mix chuck on dress, £35 (S$63.17) from Topshop

This might look like an ordinary LBD (here are some other options of Not-so-basic LBDs) but don’t be fooled by its plain appearance. It is actually made with mixed materials where the top and skirt sections are of different cotton textures. Jazz up the dress with a cuff bracelet and statement hoops.

4. Hat

Nothing marks summer like a straw sun hat matched with a white or floral sundress and espadrille wedges. Finish with a cute pair of tortoiseshell sunnies and sunblock.

5. Statement pantsuit
