MANGO’s AW18 campaign

Presented in an idyllic rustic villa, MANGO’s AW18 collection showcased a variety of gorgeous relaxed-fit suits, plaid reinvigorated in rich colours of red and brown and eclectic ‘70s inspired animal prints on free-spirited floaty frocks. Whether you’re inclined toward a new suit or a minimalist statement piece (like an oversized chunky knit sweater you can pair over a midi skirt), this collection has everything you need to build an exciting office wardrobe.

The campaign, titled TOGETHER, features familiar faces and It-girls from Adwoa Aboah to Amber Valletta and Carolyn Murphy, and was beautifully shot through the lens of photographer Mario Sorrenti. Sorrenti’s vision for the shoot is straightforward yet artistic: He wants to portray a big, close-knitted community – a family of sorts – between the brand MANGO and a diverse group of people.

Family members of Sorrenti, Adwoa Aboah and Skate legend Steve Olson also join the cast, embedding the familial theme deeper into the message. Capturing intimate moments of the day-to-day lives of the protagonists, the campaign also features the artist Langley Fox and the famous stylists Zoe Bedeaux and Helena Tejedor.

Embodying diversity as a reflection of the society we live in, we definitely get a sense of strength and unity from this campaign.

The collection itself presents new workwear pieces that are about to change the way we approach office wear for good. Far from boring, the contemporary and unconventional outfits captured in the shoot add a novel and creative attitude to the usual work uniform.

What’s particularly fresh is a silver sequined pencil skirt, which has been teamed with a white tee, a pale mint coat, and a pair of knee-high leather boots. The denim in this collection also caught our eye, sporting colour-contrasting stitching and flare cuts for a refined look.

Perhaps it’s time for office wear to gain itself a new reputation. And with MANGO spearheading that front while building itself a community of kinship (a stylish one, we might add), it won’t be long before we welcome in a more adventurous and fluid idea of a modern woman’s work wardrobe.
