Who says Singaporeans don’t have style? Here at herworldPLUS we certainly don’t! For the third year in a row we’ve scoured the country (via Instagram mostly) for the best dressed guys and girls to enter our Street Style Awards for 2016.
We had over 1,000 entries that our panel of fashion experts ‒ that included Singapore's godfather of fashion, Daniel Boey and herworldPLUS Editor-in-Chief, Niki Bruce – narrowed them down to 10 finalists who then starred in their very own photo shoot.
Once that was done the public got to vote for their favourite guy and girl, plus this year we also had an award for the Estee Lauder best street style beauty look and introduced the best Street Style Photographer category.
We had over 20,000 votes! How amazing is that? Anyway … We can now announce the winners!
THE BEST GIRL: Naomi Tham, 21
THE BEST GUY: Daniel Teo, 23
“I am so thrilled and thankful to be the winner for this year's Street Style Awards. It was definitely a great experience!” – Daniel Teo
THE ESTEE LAUDER STREET STYLE SUPERSTAR: Regina Chow, 34
“I was in complete disbelief when I found out that I won the Estée Lauder Street Style Superstar Award, given that I was probably the oldest finalist! This award highlights that style transcends age, gender and race, and it is an honour to have been given such an amazing opportunity. Thank you once again to herworldPLUS!” – Regina Chow
THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER: Hayden Chan, 21
STYLE INFLUENCERS CHOICE: Lam Xue Qi, 22
“To be able to clinch the Style Influencers' Choice title serves as a really huge affirmation and bonus for me, on top of the experience and exposure I've gained as one of the finalists,” Lam Xue Qi
MOST POPULAR: Cody Chua, 24
We want to say a big Thank You to all the stylish Singapore fashionistas who entered this year, plus all our fabulous readers who voted and, of course, our great judges. Thanks to our lovely sponsors Estee Lauder, Jeric Salon and ION Orchard, the best guy and best girl got prizes worth $2,500; the photography winner got $2,000; the most popular got $1,000 and the other awards got $500 each. One of our voters also won a fabulous staycation at Ramada Singapore at Zhong Shan Park, too.
Don’t despair if you didn’t win this year though; there’s always 2017!
