Bid that Hello Kitty craze goodbye for now — Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette has now been immortalised as a figurine doll, thanks to Tokidoki.
Available online at Net-A-Porter.com from July 3, 2013, The Karl Lagerfeld Limited Edition Tokidoki Collection should draw plenty of excited squeals from fans of the fashion Kaiser and those who love all things cat-themed.
The creative mind behind Tokidoki, Italian artist Simone Legno, has collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld to create oh-so-covetable (and adorable) dolls, scarves, tees, iPhone covers and more collectible items inspired by the famed fashion designer and his favourite feline.
In one stand-out piece aptly named “Mr. Choupette”, the designer is pictured in Tokidoki’s signature cartoon-like style, holding his precious white kitty in his arms.
“I am very flattered that I have become a tokidoki,” says Karl Lagerfeld, in reference to the Italian artist’s collectible dolls. “I always loved them and I am very happy to be one of them.”
The collection will be sold online exclusively at Net-A-Porter.com from July 3, 2013, from approximately 12pm in Singapore. So if you’re a fan of Karl and his cat, be sure to snap these up fast before they’re all sold out.
