We’re quite obsessed with the French folks here at Her World – the basket bags, the I-just-got-out-of-bed hair and the way they can really pull off a red lipstick. Heck, there’s no wardrobe solution that can’t be solved by simply reading our article on “How to dress like a French girl”. And our proclivity for living ala Parisienne intensified when Merci Marcel, a French café opened in the early part of the year. If you’ve never heard of it (we recommend liking us on Facebook for food centric stories. We eat a lot), it serves French cuisine and if you’re looking for a new #ootd spot, it’s almost like you’re in the 14th arrondissement. And that’s the bohemian part of Paris to you.

Izipizi (pronounced easy-peasy), an eyewear brand that’s stocked at Merci Marcel is the French girl personified in a pair of glasses (choose between reading, sunglass or screen models). It has quiet flair, a not-so-serious look and for once in the landscape that is “trend-led”, goes well with everything (we highly recommend the ones in colour). All three traits that a French girl embodies.

It’s lightweight which means it doesn’t weigh down on your nose bridge, flexible arms means it’s designed to fit the widest of faces and if you’re constantly staring at your computer screen, Izipizi’s screen glasses range filters out 40 per cent of the blue light from your screen. And in case you’re wondering, prices start at $59 for a pair of glasses to $69 for a pair of sunglasses. De rien to you.

Merci Marcel is at 56 Eng Hoon St. It is closed on Mondays, and is open from 8.30am – 11.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and 8.30am – 10.30pm on Sundays.
