I love a good handbag. Once you find the perfect bag, somehow your daily, busy life becomes easier. Finding the perfect bag, however, isn’t easy.
Having very particular tastes, I have to say I’ve yet to find that totally perfect bag. Now, though, perfection is closer.
French luxury brand Longchamp has just launched its Sur Mesure, or custom, service here in Singapore at its Paragon boutique. From Friday, October 21, you’ll be able to add your own spin to two of the brand’s iconic bags; the Le Cabas and the Le Pliage.

Made of quality calfskin, the Le Cabas bags are actually only available via the Sur Mesure service. There are four different versions, two handle sizes and a customisable choice of 10 colours and linings. You can even choose to have your initials stamped on the bag via a cute perforation technique.

Longchamp’s famously popular Le Pliage bags have six different versions to choose from, two handle options and there are 15 colours to choose from to mix and match, three colours for hardwear and you can get your name or initials embosses of embroidered on the bags.
Although the Sur Mesure service has been available for Singapore shoppers via Longchamp’s website, this is the first time the service has been an in-store option. The fact that you can actually try various colours, shapes and handles together before you decide helps ensure you get your perfect bag.
And it’s not exhorbitantly expensive either; these bags start at only $89 for a small Le Pliage. Once you’ve decided on your custom design, your bag will be made and delivered to your doorstep in three to six weeks, depending on which bag you’ve chosen.
Make sure you get in early, though. The Longchamp Sur Mesure service will only be available in Singapore until the end of November, before moving on to other parts of Asia.
