Think colourful fauna and vivid landscapes, and you will conjour up the image of Oroton’s autumn winter 2013/2014 collection. The sky’s pastel hues, shimmering gold sand and rich greens have been translated into natural tones of limestone, sea-grass and amber yellow – that’s just the colour palette.

The materials used are influenced by ’70s Australian architecture – timbers, sandstone and ceramics make their way into textured leather, hardware, cut outs and mesh layers. The Australian outback influence is also seen in this season’s patterns – whimsical polka dots and Cockatoo birds reflect the country’s vibrant culture and love for colour and the outdoors.

Oroton pays tribute to its heritage by recreating vintage pieces from its archives – the Dome Mesh originates from the popular ’60s style Archive Mesh – while popular styles like the 1938 Barrel bag is reinterpreted to showcase the season’s colours and eclectic prints.

2013 is the year that sees the Australian luxury accessory brand celebrating 75 years since its founding. The eternally chic metallic mesh makes an appearance on a range of limited edition Oroton designs, each individually numbered and gift boxed just for Oroton’s 75th anniversary – only 100 pieces of each style are available globally. Bag lovers should make sure one of these limited edition classics make their way into their wardrobes!
