Spring is in the air. Well at least that’s how jelly shoe brand Melissa ushers in the new season with flowers that are synonymous with spring. Once winter ends and the temperature rises, flowers begin to bloom, bringing colour and beauty to the landscape. The footwear brand also reckons that women possess the same quality – to inject beauty to the world.

Melissa pays tribute to this symbol of femininity – flowers – for Spring Summer 2013. Its Spring Summer 2014 collection “We Are Flowers” is distinctively botanically-inspired from design details that resemble petals and leaves, to the colour palette.

The floral theme is especially strong in three new styles introduced this season. The Petal has an organic design that sees layers of flower petals overlapping each other while the Floret wedges have a geometric heel in contrasting pop colours that play off the pop of colour of flowers against the green of leaves. The warmer season also sees more of the feet being bared and the Pollen – a chic new slipper design with square cutout and plastic stud details – is a fun shoe to usher in the new season in.

Of course all Melissa shoes – regardless the season – are made from Melflex, an unique, patented plastic material created to improve the flexibility and quality of PVC. It is hypoallergenic, odourless and 100 percent recyclable.

The Melissa Spring Summer 2014 “We Are Flowers” is priced from $75 and will be available from December 7, 2013 at the Mdreams boutique, #B2-03 Wheelock Place.
