The collaboration between the Greek-born London-based designer and the American denim label Current/Elliott goes on sale Friday.
In January last year ‘Queen of prints’ Katrantzou collaborated with French accessories company Longchamp on a line of exclusive handbags sold at exclusive Parisian boutique Colette.
This year she’s back again: her latest project sees the Athens-born designer work on a new collection available via online retailers including my-wardrobe.com and Matches with the American brand founded by Emily Current and Merritt Elliott.
The new designs offer a feast of new prints, and at significantly more accessible price points than Katrantzou’s main collection (€346.84 for a sleeveless print dress in the collaborative collection), they are likey to sell like hot cakes.
“Mary Katrantzou is the must-have print designer of the moment, and this collaboration with Current/Elliott opens her designs to a wider customer,” Carmen Borgonovo, fashion director at my-wardrobe.com, told Vogue UK. “The unexpected mix of art-house prints on denim makes the collection wearable and undeniably urban with a cool edge,” she added.
Trained at the Rhode Island School of Art and Design and then at Central Saint Martins in London, the Greek designer has become a mainstay on the London Fashion Week show calendar. Katrantzou has also created a number of capsule collections for high street retailer Topshop.
