If you’re the type of person who likes your clothes and furnishings quirkier than average, you’re in luck. With Chinese New Year around the corner, this is the best time to start shopping for the pieces that will become conversation starters during your CNY home gathering.

Lasalle’s newest project, Workshop by McNally & Co is a pop-up departmental store concept that promises to deliver excellently designed clothes, furniture and lifestyle products. Though all these items are on display for the whole month of January, you can only purchase them on four special dates: January 9, 16,17 and 23.

For the whole of January 2015, expect to see decadently soft snakeskin leather clutches and bags from Ling Wu, cheery-but-edgy graphic pieces from Kae Hana, and avant garde headpieces from Head of State Millinery. For the sports luxe fans, Amos Ananda’s star spangled creations ooze street cred.

Let’s not forget the students’ work.

Alongside the more established local designers, the Lasalle students will be showing their unique work alongside a special “Rainforest” interactive visual display. We’re keeping an eye out for the vintage lux evening wear! More details to come.

On opening night (January 9, 2015), look forward to a book signing event by Singapore’s own fashion godfather himself, Daniel Boey. Other highlights include window displays by master tailor Thomas Wong and Squelch Zine’s works.

Also don’t forget to grab one of the adorable, totally Instagram-worthy potted plants from Kuin Studio! I really like how the cement pots contrast with the organic, fluid look of the greenery. Custom versions will be available, so snap those up when you can!
