Come October 2011, fans of Henry Holland will be able to lay their hands on his bold new line of funky eyewear, right here in Singapore.

The renowned London fashion designer has collaborated with Le Specs, the Australian cult eyewear brand, to create a hot new range of unisex sunnies. They will hit Singapore shores when local boutique Actually brings them in next month.

The collection comes in eight styles with 19 pieces in total, and is anything but your ordinary pair of shades. Instead, each piece screams with Holland’s signature pop culture aesthetic.

The shades come in sleek, classic colours like black and chrome or more flamboyant creations with green and purple highlights.

Interestingly, circular, goggle-like silhouettes are dominant throughout the collection. “We started building on a circular story, and it evolved into more of a fixation with eyebrows and facial features. The overall aesthetic of the range feels very fresh, and Henry was constantly coming up with new and crazy ideas that we bounced around,” explains Le Specs designer Hamish Tame.

Eye-grabbing pieces include the Hoodies, which are embellished with metal eyelids and come in snazzy colours like gold, purple or black.

Another standout pair is the Circle the Mesh, a curious hybrid of goggles and aviators. The metal grill adds a retro, euro-chic feel, and is especially appealing in clear or black.

Other notable styles include the Lennon – no prizes for guessing who inspired them – as well as the Muffin Top and the 80-20 (pictured below).

“I chose to work with Le Specs after meeting with the team and finding myself among like-minded creative professionals who love their work and are passionate about what they do,” said Holland, who previously worked with luxe eyewear brand Linda Farrow.

“I really liked the idea of Le Specs’ heritage and campaigns, along with its irreverent and cheeky philosophy,” explained Holland.

The Henry Holland for Le Specs collaboration will be available exclusively at Actually, located on 29A Seah Street. All pieces are priced at $125 each. For more information, visit www.actually.com.sg
