Your party heels need not hurt you as much as they do — you just need to find the right fit for your feet. According to International Camuto Group’s Greg Morel, Vince Camuto’s “memory foam” may just be the answer to your shoe woes.

In Singapore for a press meet, the president of the American fashion company was telling us more about “memory foam”, the spongy insole that makes Vince Camuto shoes so comfortable.

Besides cushioning your feet for a more comfortable fit, the memory foam is also named as thus as it is designed to “remember” the shape of your feet “after 20 to 30 wears”, explains Greg Morel. Even the sandal flat designs are embedded with this cushy foam, such that you’ll almost feel like you’re “walking on air”, adds Morel.

He shares that there will be 60 Vince Camuto stores worldwide by the end of this year; the most recent store opened just this month in Surabaya, Indonesia.

At the moment, there’s just one Vince Camuto store at Ion Orchard but Morel says this may change, as they scout for a new location for their second standalone store. “We’re taking our time to find that prime location for the second store,” teases Morel.

“Every part of any Vince Camuto shoe design has been reviewed by Camuto himself,” says Greg Morel. “He’s so passionate about shoes that he oversees everything from the sketch to the final product.” All shoes are tested for comfort and fit; it takes an average of six months of such testing before the final shoe design is produced for Vince Camuto stores worldwide.

Vince Camuto is the namesake shoe and accessories label of American shoe designer Vince Camuto, who previously co-founded women’s fashion brand Nine West in 1978. After leaving Nine West, Camuto set up a company in his name, now known as the International Camuto group in 2001.

Then in 2005, the footwear designer stamped his shoes with his name by setting up his eponymous shoe label Vince Camuto. The shoe brand has since expanded into creating accessories, womenswear and menswear although the clothing lines are presently not available in Singapore.  “We have products in 31 categories, including ready-to-wear,” says Morel. “The Camuto group is more of a lifestyle brand now.”

Even so, shoes continue to make up a huge part of the International Camuto group, which also retails footwear from American pop star Jessica Simpson’s shoe label, BCBGeneration among other brands at its Vince Camuto stores.

Another plus point? The “mid-range” price point of Vince Camuto shoes make them even more appealing ‒ they’re available from $139 to $259 for a pair of shoes at its Singapore flagship store.

The Vince Camuto flagship store in Singapore is located at Ion Orchard, Orchard Turn, Ion Orchard B2-20, Singapore 238801. Vince Camuto, as well as the Jessica Simpson, BCBGeneration shoes are also available at Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Robinsons Orchard.
