Singapore accessories label Ling Wu has been wowing fashionistas in the know ever since it launched. These are very well made, classic bags in fabulous exotic snake skins that are so reasonably priced that you’ll double take.

For Autumn Winter 2014-15, the collection features a brand new technique that has taken two years to perfect. This “rubberising” technique coats the delicate python skins that have been “hand rubbed” (rolled with glass by hand) for a soft, shiny surface, with a special material that supports and protects the skin without losing any of its natural texture. It’s truly amazing and means the bags and small leather goods aren’t damaged easily.

The new collection has a number of cute new options; we love the Bubble bag ($520) ‒ it’s a soft handful of a clutch that comes in a whole bunch of punchy colours and even a fab patchwork version (pictured below). The Alice foldover clutch ($380) is another great shape; it’s more structured and streamlined and has a cool, heavy metal closure, and of course comes in a bunch of great colourways.

My personal favourite is the Milo shoulder bag ($980) that kind of looks a bit like a luxe camera bag; the profusion of external and internal pockets make it a great choice if, like me, you carry your life in your handbag.

The Patti tote ($1,200) is very elegant, especially if you’re someone who just likes to throw things in your bag and forget about them; the Bono ($980) and Iggy (from $880) sling bags are kind of unisex with their duffle/satchel feel and simple hardware.

If you’re into a bit of bling then the Javis ($780) might be more your style or the Zara which comes in double colours ($1,200). The Mia sling bag ($580) is super handy and again is available in some really fun colours.
