Fancy a winter holiday? Heading for a white Christmas overseas or skiing in Europe? Then head to Uniqlo’s 313@Somerset store for the last ever pieces from the brand’s cult collaboration, +J.
Although it’s only been around for three years, the collaboration between fashion designer Jil Sander – considered by many as the godmother of modern minimalist fashion – +J made a major impact in the fashion world.
+J debuted in October 2009 when Japan’s top high street fashion retailer, Uniqlo, hooked up with Sander to create a sub-label under the concept of “Open the Future” with the idea of developing new types of casualwear.
Over the seasons, the collection has moved more towards smart, but different, workwear, and has culminated in a final Autumn Winter 2011 range of classically minimal winterwear with a major focus on coats and jackets.
The final “drop” as they say in the fashion industry – the final pieces of the collection – have just arrived in the Singapore store. While we may not be in desperate need of a 3-way down coat or a wool peacoat in sunny Singapore; there’s always the need if you travel.
Alongside the “puffa” coat and the woolen peacoat – which has a fashion-forward wide collar and comes cropped neatly at the waist – +J is also offering a stretch puffa parka and some neatly tailored trousers in cotton and wool. Traditional +J shades of black and grey have been lighten with rich shades of royal blue and purple for a pop of winter colour.
So, if you have even a vague interesting in fashion, or you know you’ll be travelling into winter any time soon, you’d be mad to miss getting your hands on these cult coats.
+J for Uniqlo is only available at Uniqlo’s 313@Somerset outlet. The 3-way down coat costs $299.90; the stretch down parka costs $249.90; the wool peacoat costs $249.90 and the pants range from $79.90 to $99.90.
