Iconic bootmaker Dr. Martens pays homage to good art again with its Spring Summer 2014 collection.
This season, the UK footwear brand has used Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch as inspiration, taking one of his most famous works, “The Garden of Earthly Delights”, to create a capsule collection, incorporating both footwear and accessories.
Using the same concept as Bosch’s religious and moral narratives, Dr. Marten’s new collection consists of the Heaven three-eye shoe and Hell eight-eye boot. Made with Softy T leather, the footwear depicts scenes from the Dutch painter’s art across the quarter panels and toe area, coming complete with gold eyelets, additional swing-tags and a premium shoebox.
The collection also showcases two leather satchels, with the 15-inch version depicting the hellscape of Bosch’s painting, and the 11-inch version depicting a lighter and more earthly part of the painting.
Dr. Marten’s Spring Summer 2014 collection is available at all Dr. Martens outlets. For more information about Dr. Martens, visit its website at http://www.drmartens.com/us/. You can also follow the footwear brand on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/drmartens.sg and Twitter @DRMARTENSSG.
