Cult shoe brand Ash opens in Singapore THUMBNAIL

It seems strange now to think that there was ever a time when you couldn’t buy a pair of wedge-heel sneakers ‒ a trend that is totally going to define the 20-teens ‒ but one of the first brands to jump on the trend was European shoe brand Ash.

Cult shoe brand Ash opens in Singapore DECOR 1

Founded in 2000 by Leonello Calvani and Patrick Ithier – who had previously worked for top shoe brands like Charles Jourdan and Stephane Kelian – Ash was based on French design combined with Italian leathers and craftsmanship.

The idea was that Ash shoes would remain at an affordable price point but be obviously “designed” for fashion-forward shoe lovers; Ash’s founders wanted to set trends not just respond to them.

Being right on the cutting-edge of casual shoe trends with the wedge sneaker allowed Ash to capitalise on the sportswear looks on the catwalks and quickly become a cult shoe brand with everyone from front row editors and stylists to the world-travelling party kids.

Now, finally, Singapore stylistas will be able to get their hands on the complete range of Ash shoes including the cult wedge sneakers, the almost as popular booties and motorcycle boots and the super comfy classic flats. Ash also has men’s and children’s shoes and produces bags and great leather jackets too.

The Singapore flagship store in Takashimaya Shopping Centre will cover 980 square feet and was designed to match the brand’s “all leather, all the time” aesthetic with a mix of black metal, greenery and wood. There are retro chandeliers, antique rugs and the complete range of Ash products.

The Ash boutique is located at #03-02A, Takashimaya Shopping Centre. For more information about Ash, go to www.ashfootwearusa.com. You can follow the brand on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Ash-Footwear-USA, on Twitter at @AshShoes.
