If you’re planning to do your souvenir shopping dash for friends abroad at the airport, do skip the cliched knick knacks. Head straight to the new Keepers Singapore Designer Collective pop-up shop at Changi Airport instead, for uniquely Singapore-designed gifts your pals will love.

Situated at the departure hall of Changi Airport Terminal 1, this new shopping space features 11 Singapore designer labels, which include everything from leather bags and tableware to scented candles from now ‘til January 7, 2016. Participating brands include bags and accessories brands Ling Wu, Gnome & Bow, watch brand Hypergrand and Singapore-inspired giftware from accessories boutique Supermama.

This marks the second store location for Keepers; the shopping concept was first launched at the ongoing pop-up store at Orchard Green, which currently carries over 20 homegrown brands.
The selection at the Keepers store in town does however, differ from the Changi Airport space, which carries a smaller selection with more travel-friendly finds such as shawls from Ayesha and leather card holders from Extreme Exotic.

You might even pick up some pieces for yourself too. Singapore clothing label Matter for instance, specialises in comfy, artisan-made (and flight-friendly!) pants and shorts that you can lounge in, while local jewellery brands Carrie K and Marilyn Tan stock plenty of covetably minimalist ‘everyday’ pieces you’ll love to wear.
It won’t be there forever, so it’s best to make a visit while you can; plus it’s really one of the better ways to shop for souvenirs that your friends will actually want to keep.
