The fashion game seems to be changing – it seems like less is in fact, anything but more; and if the collections of designers such as Alexander Wang are anything to go by, women are covering up and turning coy.

The hottest trend for Autumn Winter 2012 is all about teasing the viewer with a glimpse of a (barely) exposed area. The tantalising hint of skin is irresistible when other areas of the body are under wraps, and draws attention to areas which you’d like to highlight.

Tops with shredded detailing down the front were seen at Alexander Wang, while the hemlines on dresses dropped at Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana played peekaboo with sheer frocks in pastel shades.

With these designers leading the fashion pack down the modestly-clothed path, more will be set to follow. The trend seems set to last well into next year, with designers such as Tom Ford showing chaste Spring Summer 2013 collections at their recent Paris Fashion Week shows. No further persuasion is needed – demure is sexy, ladies!

To get the look, the style team at Club 21 give their two cents’ worth, from Peter Pilotto’s kaleidoscopic long-sleeved offering to a sheer panelled dress in midnight blue from DKNY. Check out the gallery for more shopping inspiration.
