The barely-contained buzz that is the A.P.C x Vanessa Seward collaboration has been making its rounds amongst the fashion-savvy crowd for months since it was announced earlier this year in March.
This is hardly surprising since Vanessa Seward, the ex-designer of French brand Azzaro, is somewhat of a legend for having revived the brand during her nine-year stint, dressing A-list celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt, Diane Kruger and Carey Mulligan.
Similarly, French label A.P.C has its own share of fans, who like the brand’s simple, clean-cut, minimalist clothes that boast superior quality while staying accessible price-wise.
True to the collaboration – which came about due to mutual appreciation between Vanessa Seward and Jean Touitou, A.P.C’s founder and designer – the 16-piece line is comprised of signature elements from both labels.
Expect the French preppy quotient of A.P.C to go vintage ladylike in dainty-printed silk button-down tops, belted skirts and shirt-dresses in cherry red and navy blue. At the other end of the spectrum, the collection gets a glamorous kick from brocade split-front pencil skirts, shorts and flared dresses in muted gold and dusty blue as well as two versions of a gold lurex silk mousseline belted dress.
The truly A.P.C touch comes via the fabrics which are sourced from the archives of Swiss textiles company Soieries Abraham, which typically supplies fabrics to design houses like Cristobal Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent.
Excited yet? Eager fashionistas looking forward to snapping up one (or more) pieces from the line will finally be able to do so on July 12, one week ahead of schedule at the A.P.C store in Singapore.
The A.P.C x Vanessa Seward collection is available from A.P.C Singapore from July 12 at #02-08, Raffles Hotel Arcade. Prices for the collection start from $610 for a skirt to $1,120 for a dress.
