Being a member of the media has its definite perks, and one of them is being able to preview coveted collections ahead of the public, all the better to update everyone else on what is worth getting and what isn’t.
After our preview of the second J.W. Anderson for Topshop collection yesterday, we’ve come up with 5 must-buy pieces from the collaboration.
The J.W. Anderson for Topshop collection will arrive in stores tomorrow, March 2. Check out our top picks below, write up your shopping list, prep for the battle tomorrow and let us know what you bought!
We’ve seen it all, lions, swans and even flamingoes, but this dodo sweater is truly stand-out special. We adore the light-weight cotton knit that is perfect for our weather; you can wear it alone or go up a size and wear it over a button-down. Either way, this isn’t something you’ll find anywhere else, we’re sure.
After a season of seeing peplum everywhere, on waists and hips, we’re glad to finally see it on somewhere else rather than our mid-section, which is why this frill lilac skirt – made of spongy neoprene, to boot – is too cool to pass up. The length is perfect too; it stops a few inches above the knees so it is long enough to be modest and not too long that it makes walking difficult.
For a different take on a typical LBD, we love this dark denim pleat dress that checks all the right boxes in our book. Look at the modern yet sophisticated neckline, the fitted bodice and the flared pleated skirt that will work for every occasion and event there is. Besides, thanks to the heavy cotton denim, this dress will fit like a dream, the reason why everyone really needs one of these in our wardrobes.
As one of the key pieces in the collection, this argyle knit skirt is all fun all over. The cotton cashmere-blend is comfy without being too warm, and we adore the way the fringe at the hem follows our every move. We can definitely see ourselves wearing it with heeled ankle boots for a playful take on preppy chic.
This is one summer knit you can’t pass up, just look at the tomato red hue and cutesy heart motif. Besides, we love that this is made from 100 per cent cotton and feels appropriately airy due to the boxy knit pattern, so you can throw it over a bikini at the beach and not feel like you’re grossly overdressed.
