We’ve shared how you can wear yellow, based on your skin tone. Don’t shy away on green either; you’ll miss out on a whole host of outfit combinations that can be worn for work and the weekend. While not all of us can wear mint green as well as style star Yoyo Cao, there are easier ways to make the colour work for you.
We look to Korean style star Hyejin, who is also the creative director of fashion store Me-In.kr for tips on how to wear this colour in a way that’s chic and still office-friendly.
1. Wear green on tweed
The woven weave makes the minty colour appear more subdued. Wear it with high-waisted pants to minimise the mid-riff baring for work; sleek white straight cut pants work wonderfully. The contrasting pale pink or ‘nude’ heels can add to feminine touch to the full outfit.
2. Wear green with a striped shirt
You can always count on stripes; they’re the print equivalent of fail-proof neutral colours like slate grey and beige.
3. Wear green with shades of grey
This goes-with-anything neutral colour prevents your vivid green top from seeming too loud. Metallic accents add to sleek finish to your outfit, as with the the plated cuff on sandal heels that Hyejin is wearing.
4. Wear green on a printed skirt
Leafy prints on pencil skirts mean that the foliage does the colour-matching for you; keep the rest of your outfit monochrome, like Hyejin has done.
5. Wear khaki green
Think military-style hues, be it olive, khaki or deep green. There, this hue isn’t that difficult to wear after all, don’t you agree?
