Riccardo Tisci has apparently extended his contract with Givenchy.

The designer will act as creative director for the luxury label for another three years according to WWD.

Market sources have told the website the brand is shifting into expansion mode as it makes the most of all the hype around the extended contract.

Riccardo joined the fashion house, which is currently under the management of former Prada boss Sebastian Suhl, in 2005.

Sebastian joined as CEO in March last year.

In December, Givenchy announced it would be taking a break from working on seasonal couture and withdrew from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week schedule.

Instead, the label said it would be working on “special projects”.

It’s believed Riccardo is planning on showing his creations in more unique ways.

The creative director has always had his own approach, abandoning traditional catwalks for displays where people could look at clothes on models as they stood.

Riccardo recently unveiled his Spring 2013 campaign for the brand, which features his good friends Kate Moss and Mariacarla Boscono.

The designer hoped to add a personal touch by drawing upon people he already knows.

“They are people I love and who love me,” Tisci explained.

“It’s about family – something that is difficult to find in today’s world. It’s about real people, only taking the best of their personalities, with no effort.” – COVER MEDIA
