The Italian designer has picked Quvenzhané Wallis as the face of his Autumn Winter 2014 Armani Junior advertising campaign.

Born in 2003, Quvenzhané Wallis is the youngest ever nominee for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Shortlisted for her role as Hushpuppy in the 2012 film Beasts of the Southern Wild for one of the biggest prizes in film, Wallis wore an Armani outfit during her appearance at the 2013 ceremony and held her own alongside established talents including Naomi Watts, Jessica Chastain, and eventual winner Jennifer Lawrence.

The 79-year-old designer obviously had no doubts about who to pick for his latest Armani Junior campaign, and the 10-year-old talent was photographed by Stefano Azario in an Armani tuxedo with a puppy on her shoulder.

“Quvenzhané is so talented despite her young age,” explained Armani. “She is a child who has the natural ability to play many different roles. Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits that I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior.”

Her star is likely to rise further with another giant role coming up soon as the titular star in a new remake of the classic musical Annie, which will also feature Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. “I’m so happy to be chosen by Mr. Armani to be his ambassador for Armani Junior,” added Wallis, “I felt the same excitement when I got cast for a major film. Me? Wow”.

The campaign will hit international publications in June 2014. – AFP RELAXNEWS
