TOKYO – I’ve been coming to Tokyo Fashion Week for what feels like forever but there’s generally one thing that ties all the many seasons together –– lots, and lots of black. This time though for Autumn Winter 2015, there were spots of colour and lots of pretty, girlie things on the second day of the week … Here are three of my favourites so far.
JEWELLERY & EMBELLISHMENT
Thai designer EK Trongprasert showed in Japan for the first time this season with his ready-to-wear line Curated by EK Throngpraset. A presentation rather than a runway show meant everyone could see his renowned embellishment up close — he is known for his bling-bling Jewellery after all. Although the overall look was more muted than we are used to from this designer, the jewellery and embellishment brought a touch of Thai richness to his show.

This time it was the turn of Indonesian label Toton by Toton Januar as part of the Jakarta Fashion Week special show with compatriot label ETU by Restu Anggraini. The bejewelled belts and embellished coat sleeves were the stand-outs of the show.
Still one of my favourite Japanese labels, mintdesigns went all ladylike for AW15 with lace, soft volume and prints ‒ but no signature Little Girl print oddly enough ‒ showing a very pretty collection of wearable pieces.
