The Nepalese designer has created a collection for US discount chain Target and shared the thought process and emotions that went into creating it.

Gurung, who has designed for the likes of Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama, has produced an 80-piece capsule collection to bring high fashion to his less affluent fans.

“One thing I kept coming back to was the idea of love. Whether it’s having it, pining for it, losing it, wanting it, most of the collection I [did] has been inspired by love,” he said in a short video clip posted on Stylecaster. “If [people] can feel even a little bit of the love I felt while I was designing this, I would consider it a job well done.”

Gurung’s designs for Target are expected to be full of bright colours and prints and encompass clothes, accessories and footwear.

Prabal Gurung was also photographed recently in New York City’s West Village directing actors Olivia Thirlby and Chris Conroy to play a loved-up couple for the ad campaign.

Olivia was spotted in two designs, in a black-and-white dress we can already see Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf  wearing, as well as a floral printed number every girl will love for a sweet date on the town.
