Peter Pilotto started proceedings at London Fashion Week today with a plethora of printed pieces for Fall/Winter 13.

Design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos showcased their signature statement style this morning, with bold colour pops and flattering structures the order of the day.

The collection had a distinctive modern feel, with expertly sculpted dresses coming in a range of graphic shapes and colours.

Flying, tiered dresses replaced last season’s bodycon offering, with model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne showing off the label’s latest look in a frock featuring winged sleeves and an uneven hemline.

The colour palette was bold and striking, with gold, blue, yellow and red splashes adding a hint of luxury to an otherwise chic monochrome display. And true to the brand’s signature, there were digital prints in varying shades of the same colour on dresses; these were flamboyant and designed to flatter the figure.

Strong shoulders, like many other runway shows at fashion week, was the key focus for Peter Pilotto, they came in the form of boxy, cropped jackets and cape-like sleeves.

Hair and make-up was kept subtle to avoid taking attention away from the dramatic catwalk looks. Hair was slicked back from models’ faces and natural skin was the order of the day.
