Every day, we tell you what to buy, to wear and to do – all within perfect practicality of course. Chic bags to bring to work and brunch on weekends? Check. Great shoes under a $100? Check. But these items below?  They’re a little outré, a little you-might-not-be-able-to-wear-them out, but, they’re desirable enough for you to want to collect them all.

The branded blanket by Céline in wool and cashmere, $2,050.

Phoebe Philo has mentioned time and time again that she believes in designing signature items that come without bells and whistles. This blanket? Not so much. Measuring at 173 cm in width, 143 cm in height and with names of British fare on it (example: bangers & mash, beef stew and sticky toffee pudding), it could be your token eccentric piece of home décor instead.

The Dolce & Gabbana tiaras in steel with Swarovski crystal embellishments (prices unavailable).

You might be thinking, who honestly needs a tiara? We say that these ones don’t come in plastic like the usual flimsy bachelorette ones, or, come adorned with marabou feathers that feel more at home at Laneway. They’re shinier, very very decadent and, you’d actually look and feel like a queen for the day.

The Miu Miu furry topper in cotton with acrylic belt, $1,020.

The entirety of its body is covered in fur, it comes in a shade that’s not so commonly found on hats, and, it’s hard to deny its similarity to the hat Super Mario himself wears. But, what this Miu Miu hat lacks up for in practicality, it makes up for it in cuteness and if purple’s not your shade – it comes in green or pink too.

The Yves Saint Laurent Anja 100 roller heel in python leather, $2,830.

During Fall 2013, Hedi Slimane released a pair of sneakers with roller skates on them. Four years later, Anthony Vacarello has released a more vertiginous offering – the classic Anja pumps with a heel height of 11cm now has the same roller wheels attached to them, bringing the heel height to a total of 17cm. We don’t encourage you to skate in them because well, the rollers don’t work – they work better when displayed prominently on a shelf instead.

The Chanel spaceship clutch in plexiglass with brass, strass and pearl embellishments, $19,150.

Karl Lagerfeld loves his kitschy bags – over the years there was one inspired by a milk carton, one in the shape and size of a bagel and another shaped like the iconic Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle. This one’s a little out of this world (it is shaped like a spaceship after all) and when you pop its nose cone, its chamber holds an iPhone7 and two to three lipsticks. Funnily enough, a can of Coke too.

The MCM rabbit plushies in calf leather with Swarovski crystal embellishments, $1,190 each.

When something sold in a fashion boutique is so twee and well, shaped like an animal, you’d think it’s just a toy. What makes these ones stand out from their Toys-R-Us counterparts? They’re meant to be plushies but if you’d like, a zippered pouch at the back lets you carry it out as a clutch (it only fits an iPhone7+ and a very slim card case) and a detachable shoulder strap allows you to wear it out cross bodied or as a shoulder bag.
