The latest store in Orchard Road is the coolest gallery like one you can shop in

30 brands, a modern-minimalist design and fortnightly releases at the new Manifesto

Every so often, we find a store that speaks to us in terms of the products that stock and some would say #aesthetic. But if you're Walid Zaazaa (aka the founder of Manifesto), you wouldn't be interested in the “hip or hype” that are the two words fashion brands or stores want to be associated with today.

Instead, his new direction for Manifesto’s Orchard Road store (it was previously situated in Capitol Piazza) focuses on tricking it out with what consumers truly want: a great mix of brands (and there are over 30 which range from fashion, street wear, and lifestyle accessories) and a space that impresses.

In an age where gender-neutral styles are a thing, we wouldn't consider this section the menswear section. We say, it's the section with clothing that looks good on you as it will on the men in your life.

Artisanal home fragrances from French label Mad et Len and cult sneakers from Axel Arigato are just some of the brands you can find at Manifesto.

Slick LED lights illuminate a structure that’s inspired by a North African nomadic tent.

Regarding the former, the brands that made the original Manifesto that-cool-store-you-should-be-blowing-your-paycheck on are still here: streetwear brand Maison Kitsune, French-chic brand A.P.C and the quiet-intellectual clothing from Lemaire.

What’s new though? Artisanal leather bags from Japanese label Patrick Stephan, cult Swedish sneaker brand Axel Arigato, and sunglasses from Barcelona label Etnia.

And we’re just name dropping a few of them because the best thing you could do for yourself this weekend would be to go down and unearth a gem (or two) for yourself.

Manifesto is located at 33A Orchard Road, #02-17 Mandarin Gallery. Opening hours are from 11am – 9pm daily.
