Things we love about Givenchy’s Eden bag

Givenchy revealed the Eden handbag on its F/W’19 runways and these are the three things that stood out for us

A name like that only leaves room to conjure up images of a lush paradise and notions of desire. And that was precisely what Givenchy was going for this F/W ‘19 when the Eden bag debuted on the runway. Labelled as the French house’s daring new statement bag, here are three things we love about this graphic number.

One: it evokes a sense of mystery and desire. Boasting a variety of exotic finishes from deep black leather to rich jewel tones of teal velvet and emerald green python, the eclectic collection is strangely seductive.

Two: you can express your personal style with adjustable and interchangeable straps.

It could be an embellished leather strap today, and a crocodile embossed one the next.

And this versatility will not be short-lived. You can expect Givenchy revisit this feature in seasons to come, meaning that you may continue experimenting with the bags according to your whims and fancies.

Three: As it is entirely handcrafted in Italy using an original construction technique, the leather-work is quite the feat. Apart from the square body and beveled edges, the Eden includes geometric stitching that reprises Givenchy’s signature ‘V’ shape (a nod to the house’s couture necklines), and a lustrous aubergine lining.

The Givenchy Eden bags are available in Marina Bay Sands and Paragon stores. Retail prices range from $1,450 for the pouch with chain strap to $3,550 for the medium size.
